With Gratitude

This page is dedicated to thanking all those named below and others whose names I never learned that assisted me from the moment the accident happened to the present in my healing journey.

I am forever grateful.

Love, Danny

First and foremost, my deepest thanks to my wife Tamara Aruj and my daughter Bliss Aruj, for without their love and caring I could not be who I am today.  I love you both more than words can say.

I would also like to thank all of my immediate family and all my dearest friends and clients (who also proved to be friends) for constantly visiting the hospital and filling my room with cards, flowers (like all those gorgeous orchids!), and balloons.  It made such a difference in the life it put into my hospital room and into me.

Ana and Richard Labella for watching Bliss the day I was rushed to Jackson after the accident.

Dr. Nissam Razak of Barth Green Neurosurgery at Jackson, for his skilled hands, knowledge, and expert surgical team.  So many thanks as well to Dr. Allan Levy from the surgical team for taking such an interest in our family.

On February 14th, only 11 days after the accident, someone broke into our home.  Luckily, Ellen Kula, our dear friend, had come to take our daughter Bliss for a walk in the neighborhood and was fortunately gone long enough that Bliss did not see any of the drama of the police arriving and arresting the thief...who had been seen and reported to the police by Pam Toemmes, our neighbor across the street.  I feel so lucky that these two women were in our lives that day, and can't thank them enough.

Miss Patsy of Beth David Early Childhood Preschool for watching and bringing Bliss to see me at Baptist after school.

Thanks to friend and musician Mark Krumich, who specializes in music therapy.  He made several CDs for me while I was in the hospital that were very healing, especially at a time when my nervous system could not handle much like reading or television...and at the time I had no movement in my arms to be able to read anyway.

To roughly 50 employees of Aruj Salon and Spa for pulling together and making the business run smoothly from the moment the accident happened through the entire next year.  I can never thank you enough.

Tom Petrillo of Aveda/Estee Lauder Foundation for all his incredible support after my release from Baptist Hospital.

Tremendous credit goes to Robin Smith, Miriam Guanche, and the associates of Miami Physical Therapy. Thank you for all your amazing work.

During my physical therapy I was given the opportunity to work with Corrine Luria and The Miami Project to Cure Paralysis.  During that time she also did Feldenkrais Therapy on me.  I owe her many thanks, as her work was very inspiring.

Thanks to Joanie Heart, who recommended the Upledger intensive program for me, which significantly changed my life.

To my friends in the beauty industry and The Salon Association for having raised funds to pay for dozens of visits for the best physical therapies available, unlimited thanks.  I owe you all so much.

An important thank you to my neighbor Pam Toemmes, who is a massage therapist friend.  She brought me essential oils and tonics while I was at Jackson.  She also was the first person to start massaging me at home after being released from the hospital.

Marisa Gallardo for her wonderful Thai massage, and Suzanne Eshun for her healing touch massage as well.

A very special thank you to Suzy Page, who sadly recently passed away from leukemia, for her wonderful work in training me with weights and yoga.

Phillipe Manicom for opening so many channels through his acupunture work.

Lori Felton and Victoria Lage of Myra and Company, as well as Trina Tejada for all their Pilates teachings.

Dr. Lee Nugen for her gift of psychotherapy, and for her affiliation with the intensive program at the Upledger Institute.

Zeli Melhuish for providing me with my macrobiotic diet.

Gigi Cohen of Jesse Naturelle in Montreal, who is one of my best friends.  She kept sending care packages of all the nutritional products needed for my cellular rejuvenation.

Demetrius ("Dee") of Coconut Grove, another close friend, who kept me stocked with bee pollen at the hospital and who always keeps me in touch with figuring out my reality whenever I meet with him.

The Upledger Institute of CranioSacral work for existing.

Everyone at Beth David Synagogue for supporting our family throughout the entire ordeal.

I have had such personal growth through Landmark Education that I recommend it highly.  It made me face who I am and what has made me procrastinate on issues of mental and physical healing.

Joel Fuller for helping me decide on the name of "Trust...Then Heal" - I love the inspiration those words continue to give to me and others.

To Nancy Bednarczyk for so many wonderful referrals in Washington State and beyond.

To Norbert Turek for some great referrals in Colorado.

Thanks to Susan Gosselin for all her referrals in Maine, Florida, and Mexico.

A million thanks to Victoria Wurdinger, editor of Modern Salon Magazine, who encouraged us early on to send her a press release about Trust...Then Heal so we could take our work to a higher, more public level.

Last, but not least, to my dear friend Kathy Ozzard Chism, who spends hours upon countless hours creating, designing, researching, expanding, and growing this website so I may share my story and information with the world.
