This page is dedicated to wonderful books, food for thought, movies that inspire, provoke, or just chase away the blues, and great quotes that can assist in the coping process of managing an illness, disability, or time of stress.
I hope these are of help.
Sincerely, Danny

"The reward for attention is always healing." Julia Cameron
"You are led through your lifetime by the inner learning creature, the playful spiritual being that is your real self. Don't turn away from possible futures before you're certain you don't have anything to learn from them. You're always free to change your mind and choose a different future, or a different past." Richard Bach

"Is it possible that we're so conditioned to our daily lives, so conditioned to the way we create our lives, that we buy the idea that we have no control at all? We've been conditioned to believe that the external world is more real than the internal world. This new model of science says just the opposite. It says what's happening within us will create what's happening outside of us." Dr. Joseph Dispenza, from the film "What the Bleep Do We Know?"
"Wellness is a choice - a decision you make towards optimal health. Wellness is a way of life - a lifestyle you design to achieve your highest potential for well being. Wellness is a process - a developing awareness that there is no end point, but that health and happiness are possible in each moment, here and now. Wellness is a positive acceptance of oneself. Wellness is the interaction of the body, mind, and spirit - the affirmation that everything we do, think, feel, and believe has an impact on our state of health. A person seeking wellness care enhances their life experience. The person wishes to feel healthier, to reduce the effects of aging, and to avoid becoming customers of the sickness business. A wellness patient does not seek merely to maintain the status quo, return to pre-injury satus, or prevent illness. Such an individual recognizes that Wellness Care is a lifelong process - a way of life - that is an integral component of global strategy for human empowerment." Dr. Sharon Lacy

From Ginny Dixon, photographer: "The physically challenged have an experience of being powerful, beautiful, and an abundant source of contribution. This lady blew me away. She has Cerebral Palsy and only has muscle contro in her neck. With this she has a headpiece (not shown in photo) with which she paints. It takes her six months to make one painting. She controls the wheelchair with a mouthpiece. I asked her a few questions, and once again I am humbled by who people are."
On being in a wheelchair her entire life: "I am lucky because I can transport myself."
On falling in love: "I have a few boyfriends,,,but I don't like to be tied down to one, as I get bored easily."
On why she paints: "My brain is a sumphony. I love painting. It makes me want to get up every day."
On only being able to contro the muscles in her neck: "I have more control than most people and I am lucky for what I have."
I asked her if she feels stuck because she is in a wheelchair: "No, I travel all over the world in my mind - I have been everywhere."
